Our Horses

They lend us their strength, test our patience, and teach us grace. Horses make us who we are.

Orion

2006 Oldenberg Gelding

Orion and Karie have been a team since 2013. From the start, he challenged her to think outside the box and adapt, teaching her many of the skills she values most today. Orion was never a horse for whom the ‘usual’ approach worked — and that journey shaped Karie into the trainer she has become. Today, Orion enjoys his time in the show ring with Karie’s mother, Cindy.

Zoe

2007 Holsteiner Mare

Zoe joined Karie in 2018, bringing elegance, talent, and a sweetness that perfectly embodies the ‘unwavering’ in Unwavering Equestrian. If ever there were a dream horse, it would be Zoe. She’s spending her best years teaching others the ropes — all while enjoying plenty of snuggles, snacks, and good rolls along the way.

Costa

2006 Oldenberg Gelding

Coming over from Holland as just a youngster, Costa quickly proved himself to be a brave little bug with a big heart. He came into Cindy’s life at a time when she needed him most, teaching her — and many others — lessons they didn’t even know they needed. While Karie loves all of her horses, she admits to being especially partial to Costa, who has a gift for finding the humans who need healing and quietly making his way to them. Today, he continues to do just that as part of the program, and Karie couldn’t be more grateful for him.

Legend

2011 Belgian Warmblood Gelding

Legend was the horse Karie swore she wasn’t going to buy — at a time when she wasn’t even sure she wanted horses in her life anymore. But if you’ve ever met Legend, you know right away: his personality won’t let anyone give up on anything. The kind of horse who reminds you how men once convinced horses to charge into battle, Legend’s presence, loyalty, and grace are matched only by his orneriness and playful spirit. He keeps the program grounded, honest, and full of love.

Crocodile RFS

2022 Westfalen Gelding

Crocodile is an athlete in the making. The youngest of the string, he was thoughtfully started at Royal Fox Stables and continues to develop his education as he grows into the handsome, talented horse he was meant to be. Keep an eye on this youngster — with each passing day he gains scope, strength, and presence, all while maintaining his trademark sweetness.

Viper

2020 OTTB Gelding

Continuing the valued partnership with Royal Fox Stables, Viper was originally slated to be Karie’s 2025 RRP candidate. While the year has brought its share of twists and turns — and funds have been redirected to other projects — Viper is still on his path to becoming a true event horse. Most recently, he and Karie attended a clinic with Jen Holling, where they tackled some of their first big off-site challenges and came away feeling like a real team.

Casino

2018 OTTB Gelding

Casino is the final member of the Royal Fox Stables team. He spent six months with Jan Byyny, building an excellent foundation, and has now joined the program in Area IX to continue learning the ropes of being a show horse. In 2025, Karie will be guiding him through his early career. Casino’s elegance and talent are matched only by his sweetness and undeniable good looks.

Stay Tuned...

The future is bright, and the next great partners are already waiting in the wings. Stay tuned as they step into the spotlight.”

In loving memory of Kyber and Dutch, who inspire the next generation every day.
