​A note from Karie Slade: 

 

​Horses have been a lifelong passion, even while pursuing other careers that have strengthened my skills as an instructor. With a background in teaching and education, my coaching is approached by breaking down complex skills into clear, manageable steps, always tailored to the unique needs of each horse and rider team.

A strong foundation in show jumping was built through years of competing and training, teaching valuable lessons in patience, precision, and clear communication — all of which I share with every student. Over time, eventing has become a deep passion, inspiring a commitment to the courage, challenge, and partnership it demands.

It is important to me that there is an unwavering commitment to safe practices and the highest standards of care guides every interaction with horses. Their well-being forms the foundation of every successful ride and the true heart of horsemanship.

Continuous learning is one of my core beliefs and guides me to seek supervision and mentorship from qualified professionals supports growth as a rider and instructor, including ongoing work toward certification through the Eventing Coaches Program.
